Pizza Deliveryman Robbed At Gunpoint: Newark PD

Newark Police are attempting to seek a man wanted for robbing a pizza deliveryman at gunpoint on Saturday, Aug. 19.

At 12:53 a.m. police were called to the 100 block of Vermont Avenue on a report of an armed robbery, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said.

The deliveryman was called to a location to deliver an order where he was met by the suspect, who said another man was approaching with the money, Fragé said. The second suspect then brandished a handgun and used it to strike the victim, before taking off with $200 and the victim's cell phone, Fragé said

The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment, Fragé said. One of the suspects is believed to frequent the 100 block of Grove Terrace, Fragé said.

Detectives investigating this incident captured a photo of one of the suspects and seek the public’s help in quickly identifying him, Fragé said. He is believed to frequent the 100 block of Grove Terrace in Newark, Fragé said
